Desktop Publishing Assignment

You are a teacher in a grade or subject of your choice. You are preparing for Back-to-School Night in the beginning of the school year. You will be meeting with the parents of your class and want to provide them with material about the class as a supplement. You have decided to create a pamphlet for the parents to take with them and reference throughout the school year.

Each person should use the Word Processor and the Internet as tools to develop a foldable pamphlet for the parents. You must include a minimum of the following information:

• Name and contact information
• A brief biography about you
• A short paragraph about the class
• A short paragraph about the school or district
• A list of classroom rules
• A list of projects/assignment
• Learning expectations
• Any important information the parent’s need to know (dates, trips, etc.)

The minimum requirements for your one-page newsletter are that it:

1. Must be written in first person
2. Must be in book fold format and 2 or 3 columns on one of the pages or 3 Fold Brochure
3. Must include a banner or headline over multiple columns
4. Must include at least one picture downloaded from the internet
5. Must include at a minimum information listed above
6. Text must be 12 point or smaller
7. Booklet should be a minimum of 4 BOOKLET Pages

Extra Credit: Print Booklet in Color, on One Page or Back-to-Back Pages (if more than one page), and Fold Booklet.
